Hello and welcome to my blog.
A lot of people have been asking about my trips, with the most common question being “When will you write about your travels” so I have finally started putting together my travel ideas, experiences and wishes.
Here are a few facts about me:
My name is Denisa, I am 32 years old, and travelling has been one of my biggest fascinations since I was a child. I did not get the chance to travel as much as I would have liked when I was younger, but in the last few years I have grabbed the opportunity as much I could of my days off.
I consider myself lucky to be born in Romania as it’s one of few countries that offers all kinds of landscapes: mountains, hills, plains, waterfalls, deltas, caves, the sea. This means you are never too far away from a mesmerizing sight. Because we are close to the mountains, I take advantage of this and almost every weekend I am out hiking.
I love nature in all its forms: seas, mountains, waterfalls, hills, forests. On the other hand, I also enjoy the chaos and agitation that exists among the tall, modern and imposing buildings and I like to get lost on the narrow streets of any old town. Speaking of tall buildings, the United States were always on my wishlist but this dream is yet to come to fruition. When asked by my guide from Sao Paulo if I have ever been to NYC (to which my reply was sadly no), she told me that the correct answer is “Not yet.”
Travelling is not only about sightseeing new places, but also tasting the cuisine, listening & interacting with locals and finding out some of the local customs. I am amazed by how many different people and cultures there are and cannot wait to find as many as possible. Trying local foods whenever I’m abroad is a must in order to complete the experience. Travelling can be one of the most eye-opening things anyone can do.
I need to be honest with you: I always have at least one trip booked. This is because of a very valid reason: ‘notriphobia’ (n.) – the fear of not having any trips booked.
